Athens Joan L. Chadwick of Athens Township, passed away Friday, January 26,2007 at Battle Creek Health System with her family by her side. She was born April 18, 1944 to Clifford and Glenola (Gillardo) Heckber. Joan married Newell Chadwick on March 20, 1971 in Athens, MI. She was a Life Member of the Athens Ladies Auxiliary Post 5319. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Newell, a daughter Melissa (Bob) Poling of Athens, a son Shawn (Jada) Chadwick of Battle Creek, 6 grandchildren and a brother Robert Heckber of Union City. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Gerald Heckber of Union City. Visitation with friends and family will be Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Spencer Family Funeral Home in Athens, MI Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the funeral home with Reverend David Mackaluso officiating and special honors by the Athens Ladies Auxiliary Post 5319.
