ATHENS Mrs. Mary Marie Thompson, age 76, of Athens passed away Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Battle Creek Health System. Mary was born on July 13, 1930 to Clyde and Charlotte (Corey) Minnick. She worked at the Athens Pharmacy before retiring. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She is survived by her husband Clyde Thompson, daughters Kathryn Hewitt, Nona Thompson & Angela Williams of Athens; a son Brian and Wendy Thompson of Colon, Mi.; brothers Charles Minnick of Ohio, Leroy Minnick of Harrison, Mi., a sister Joyce Sermon of Georgia, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charlotte Corey and Clyde Minnick, two brothers Benny Minnick and Rex McClughan. A time of remembrance will be held for Mary Thompson at Spencer Family Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 9th between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. All relatives and friends are invited.
