Marta Hildagard Bobinac, age 86 of Battle Creek, died Monday, July 16, 2012 in her sleep at Heartland Nursing Facility. Marta was born on May 19, 1924 to Dorothea and Karl Kretci in Berlin, Germany. She, her sister and their parents, survived the war to see the devastation of their home. She met her future husband in a soup kitchen where she often went to help feed her family. Marta came to the United States in 1950 with her husband (Milan) and young son (Martin) to start a new life together. She was employed at the Kellogg Company for 25 years and retired at 62. Marta loved being with her family, had a passion for traveling and made many trips back to her homeland to visit family and friends. Marta is survived by her sister Hannalore Griffith of Mesa, Arizona, husband Milan Bobinac, children Martin Bobinac, Kenneth Bobinac, Daniel Bobinac and Angela Hersha, daughter in law Barrie Bobinac and son in law Jeff Hersha, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A private service will be held at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Heartland Hospice. Mom You Will Be Missed! I remember your mother (and you, Martin) from the German club…dances and such that I attended with my Grandmother, Elizabeth (Betty) Wirkus. My Grandmother and your Grandmother, Dorothy, were great friends for many, many years.

I couldn't help but notice that it shows Darrel Adams (IF he grew up in Union City) then he used to be close friends with my step brother, Mike Fuller. Small world.
