Burlington Shirley M. Moore, age 83 of Burlington, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. Shirley was born September 3, 1928 in Battle Creek, MI to Donald J. and Marguerite L. (Stebleton) Ward. She married Teddy Roosevelt Moore on May 11, 1948 in Battle Creek. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 5319. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, crocheting, knitting and embroidery. Shirley is survived by her children Pauline (George) Pipkins of Hartford, MI, Rosetta “Ginger” Middaugh of Burlington, Linda (Victor) Blanton of Burlington, Lila (Ned) Gibson of Swartz Creek, MI, Robin (Jim) Campbell of Lawton, MI and Terry (Lisa) Moore of Union City; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren , 9 great-great grandchildren; and 3 sisters Keitha Brunner of Athens, Joyce Prince of Battle Creek and Gloria (Dan) Applegate of Athens. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, a son Teddy R. “Butch” Moore, Jr., a brother Lawrence Ward and one grandson and one granddaughter. Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Spencer Family Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral Services 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3rd at Spencer’s with Pastor Ralph Cates and the Athens Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 5319 officiating. Interment Burr Oak Cemetery, Athens.
